Shalini Rohra (shalophyta premedicus)

700x

Hi! I'm Shalini Rohra and I'm a third-year undergraduate majoring in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Los Angeles. I aspire to be a pediatrician and have a strong interest in evolutionary and developmental biology. In my position at the UCLA Sears Lab, my interests extend to cellular and genetic research.

Beyond the classroom, I fulfill my mission of community service through my involvements in organizations like Project Sunshine, UCLA's Red Cross chapter, and the Flying Samaritans. Additionally, I am a learning assistant for UCLA's undergraduate LIFESCI 30 series, where I support my peers in their academic endeavors.

Shalini is an undergraduate researcher in the Sears Lab@UCLA, working under Irene Liao investigating the genetic basis of nectary development in monocot plants. (March 2023 - Present)
